The JBL VTX B35G is engineered for professionals who need controlled low-frequency performance in applications where conventional cardioid subwoofer arrays are difficult to deploy. Purpose-built for the VTX Series, B35G brings fixed cardioid behavior into a compact, single-enclosure design, giving system designers a practical solution to reduce rearward energy, improve stage conditions, and keep low-frequency coverage focused toward the audience.
At the core of the system are three JBL Differential Drive 15-inch woofers arranged in a front-rear configuration. Two forward-facing drivers and one rear-facing driver are powered independently using optimized JBL presets. This integrated architecture produces predictable cardioid directivity without requiring additional rear-facing cabinets, complex spacing calculations, or field-built subwoofer arrays. The result is a low-frequency solution that is easier to specify, faster to deploy, and better suited to applications where available space, deployment space, or architectural constraints limit traditional cardioid approaches.
B35G is designed to work naturally within the VTX Series while giving users more ways to solve low-frequency deployment challenges. Acoustically identical to the flyable B35, it delivers the same performance while replacing touring flyware with 16 M10 Quick Link™ eyebolts for installations. Compatibility with all VTX Series Base Plates enables clean and efficient deployment of ground-stacked applications, supporting both standalone subwoofer configurations and integrated VTX system deployments.
With extension down to 32 Hz, a high output-to-size ratio, optimized presets, simple NL4 wiring, and integration with Venue Synthesis, Array Link, and Performance Manager, B35G adds focused, flexible low-frequency control to the VTX ecosystem. From arena floors and festival grounds to houses of worship, theaters, and fixed installations with limited depth or sightline restrictions, B35G helps deliver the right amount of bass in the right direction, with less energy where it is not needed.
INTEGRATED CARDIOID CONTROL
B35 uses a fixed cardioid architecture with three JBL Differential Drive 15-inch woofers arranged as two forward-facing drivers and one rear-facing driver. Each section is powered independently using dedicated amplifier channels and optimized presets, creating predictable rear rejection and forward-focused low-frequency energy without requiring additional subwoofer cabinets, external array spacing, or complex deployment techniques.
A PRACTICAL SOLUTION FOR CONSTRAINED DEPLOYMENTS
The primary value of B35 is not simply that it can be used cardioid; it is that cardioid behavior is built into a compact, purpose-designed enclosure. This makes B35 a strong fit for productions and installations where low-frequency control is needed but space, trim height, rigging capacity, truck pack, under-stage height, or architectural sightlines limit what can be achieved with conventional multi-cabinet cardioid arrays.
DESIGNED FOR VTX SYSTEMS
B35 is mechanically compatible with VTX A12, enabling mixed arrays with A12 suspended directly below B35 without adapter frames. It supports A12 rigging accessories, including the A12 Array Frame (MKII) and Suspension Bar, for a unified deployment workflow across VTX systems. Compatible with all VTX Series base plates and acoustically aligned with all VTX full-range systems and B-Series subwoofers, B35 integrates easily into flown or ground-stacked configurations.
TWO MODELS, ONE ACOUSTIC PLATFORM
The standard B35 includes full touring rigging for maximum flexibility and system integration. B35G omits integrated touring fly hardware but includes 16× M10 QuickLink eyebolts for fixed installation, while also supporting ground-stacked configurations. Both models share the same acoustic design, amplifier presets, performance characteristics, and simple NL4 wiring, providing flexibility across all applications.
SOFTWARE-INTEGRATED WORKFLOW
B35 integrates with the full JBL software ecosystem, including Venue Synthesis, Array Link, and Performance Manager. Venue Synthesis supports system design, acoustic prediction, optimization, and mechanical safety checks, while integrated subwoofer array tools and the EDS calculator simplify large array deployment. Array Link delivers rigging and configuration data to mobile devices, and Performance Manager provides unified system configuration, tuning, monitoring, and control across all VTX systems.
PROFESSIONAL BUILD QUALITY
B35 is constructed from outdoor-grade Baltic birch plywood and finished with JBL’s proprietary, impact-resistant black DuraFlex coating. A stainless-steel grille, IP55 rating, and corrosion-resistant suspension hardware ensure long-term reliability in demanding environments. The enclosure, rigging, and transducers are engineered for the most demanding touring and installation applications and are backed by JBL Professional’s 5-year warranty.
