    • LevelMAX Limiters
    • Input/Output EQ
    • Crossover
    • Delay
    • Matrix Router
    • Speaker Line Monitoring
  • EN 54-16 Compliant for Life Safety Applications - Part 16 of the European Union’s (EU) EN 54 standard for fire detection and alarm systems has a specific requirement for voice alarms, which output messages in the form of a voice message rather than a traditional siren. This amplifier is certified as part of an EN 54-16 VACIE*, meeting the stringent requirements of a life safety system to serve the needs of hospitality, large venue and other markets.

EOL Box | End-of-line Terminator
EOL Box Main photo
Larger Images

The EOL box is used as an End of Line (EOL) termination in audio systems that use a 20kHz pilot tone to detect open and short conditions. The termination is placed at the farthest end of the loudspeaker circuit. Unlike most loudspeakers the EOL box is reactive at 20kHz such that the resulting current can be measured using HiQnet Audio Architect™ software. If the circuit is either opened or shorted, the measured 20kHz current will change. The EOL box presents either a 10Ω or 5Ω load at 20kHz, selectable using an external impedance switch. This method requires the 20kHz pilot tone to be mixed together with the audio. The pilot tone can be generated within the DCi Network or Dante family of amplifiers and the USP4 family of CTs amplifiers. Additionally the DSP built into the DCi Network, Dante and USP4 has the ability to allow for the pilot tone to bypass the internal speaker processing.

The EC-4B can control and monitor parameters within BSS Audio Soundweb London and other HiQnet devices, including Crown DCi series amplifiers. The EC-4B is available in black or white, and in single-gang US Decora or single-gang EU form factor. The EC-4B contains a single Ethernet port for configuration, control, monitoring, and power via PoE. The EC-4B is configured via simple drag-and-drop operations within the software application HiQnet Audio Architect.

The EC-4B contains four buttons and one LCD screen. The buttons and LCD screen are multi-color backlit, capable of eight different colors with adjustable intensity.

The four buttons can be pressed for binary parameter control (e.g. mute), preset recall, or source selection.
