------------------------------------------------------------------
To setup your DP Series product to accept the software or preset update from your
computer using RS232, follow the instruction below. You may want to contact XTA if you are unsure about this or have any questions regarding interfaces etc.
Also, see the XTA Interface Guide for a comprehensive list of XTA approved interfaces, including USB.
N.B. Software and presets updates cannot be done over a wireless system.

STEP 1:
Connect a 9-pin male to 9-pin female DEE type serial lead from
any available COM port on your computer (Or XTA approved USB to serial converter) to the the external socket on the back of the XTA unit.

STEP 2:
On the unit, use the [MENU], [BACK], [NEXT] and [ENTER] keys to go
into the 'Interface Submenu' and then into 'Interface setup'.
(Series 2 products are pre-set to RS232, 38400 baud, ID1)
Once entered, setup as follows:

'Extern. Mode:Master*' / 'RS232 Mode'
'RS232 Baud: 9600 / 19200 / 38400'. Select appropriate baud rate that matches the Loader.
'Remote ID Number = 1*'
All other options do not matter for this, so can be left alone.

PLEASE NOTE: XTA processors can only be updated one at a time. Extension units will not respond to these downloads.

Step 4:
Run the program LoadXTA.exe.
The program will attempt to communicate with the unit and automatically confgure itself and display 'Good Response'. If the program fails to find the unit, adjust the
COM port settings (port number and speed) until the Loader program reports a response.
PLEASE NOTE: Only one application at a time can be open that uses the same COM port. Close all other applications down if the correct COM port is selected, but it does not respond.

Step 5:
Once connected make sure that the Load options have the correct unit
selected and'Load Program' is set selected next to unit type or 'Load Presets' if you are loading in manufacturer presets rather than a new program.
Once set, click the [...] button and select the correct Program / Preset file.

Step 6:
** Make sure all other programs are closed down **
Now click the 'LOAD NOW' button and confirm the load.
** DO NOT INTERUPT THIS PROCESS! If this part is interupted, it may corrupt the unit and render it inoperable. If this does inadvertatnly happen, please contact your local distributor or e-mail XTA on tech@xta.co.uk ***
