JBL Professional Introduces Flyable Subwoofers & Expanded Accessories for SRX900 Series Powered Systems

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — HARMAN Professional Solutions, the global leader in audio, video, control, and lighting systems, today announced two flyable subwoofer additions to its JBL Professional SRX900 Series of powered loudspeaker products. Included are 15-inch and 18-inch single woofer models that can be flown and configured with existing SRX900 line arrays and rigging accessories. The new subwoofers expand family versatility and are ideal for situations where floor space may be limited.

Drawing on flagship JBL Professional technologies, both subwoofers feature dual voice coil, Differential Drive woofers to deliver better heat dissipation, lower power compression, and wider dynamic range. A large low-frequency port design improves airflow and reduces audible turbulence. A reinforced 18 mm birch plywood cabinet ensures enhanced strength and durability. Both subwoofers feature the same amplifier module as the existing SRX900 subwoofers, offering a truly plug-and-play, powerful experience.

In addition, a new range of accessories is being introduced, compatible with both the existing and new SRX900 products, expanding system configuration options and transportation capabilities. Models include new vertical transport carts for stacking and transporting up to three subwoofers and matching covers. A new simplified pole mount accessory offers a more cost-effective option for pole-mounting SRX906LA products.

Alongside the new hardware offerings, a series of new firmware and software updates expand system flexibility even further. A new version of the Performance application is being released, adding support for flown subwoofer arrays, a much-requested daylight mode, and the ability to store venue files onto the devices. A new version of Venue Synthesis is also being released, adding new and exciting features to the application. Additionally, all models include transformers to support both 70V/100V and low impedance applications.

There are six models to facilitate the design of high-quality audio experiences in a wide range of environments and applications. The core models are the Control 426C/T and the Control 424C/T, two-way coaxial ceiling loudspeakers with 6.5-inch and 4-inch woofers, respectively. For applications where ceiling plenum space is limited, low-profile versions of those models, the Control 426LP and Control 424LP, are available. The Control 426C/T-LS has been certified to the UL1480 Standard, expanding application possibilities into life-safety designs. Finally, the Control 419CS/T is a high power, low distortion 8-inch in-ceiling subwoofer that augments any design that requires extended low-end performance.

Crypto.com Arena Upgrades JBL Sound System for Venue’s Renovation

LOS ANGELES — Crypto.com Arena is not simply one of the top sports and entertainment venues in the US, it is one of the best known throughout the world. As the home of the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers, NHL’s LA Kings, and WNBA LA Sparks, sporting events are a constant, something that will get even more focus in 2028 when the arena hosts men’s and women’s gymnastics competition for the upcoming 2028 Olympic and Paralympic games. But Crypto.com Arena is also the home of the most popular music concerts and a multitude of other special events, including the annual GRAMMY Awards. The arena’s seating capacity of 20,000 (depending on the event), puts Crypto.com Arena above the average size for its class. It’s big and it’s busy.

Opened in 1999 as STAPLES Center, the flagship venue of AEG is the anchor of the L.A. LIVE sports and entertainment district in downtown Los Angeles residing adjacent to the Los Angeles Convention Center. Shortly after changing its name to Crypto.com Arena in late 2021, AEG embarked on a three-year major renovation to every public facing element of the venue, including a complete upgrade of its JBL loudspeaker system.

“Everything, top to bottom, is getting made over: private spaces, premium offerings, public areas, concessions, locker rooms, our scoreboards and video screens with an emphasis on our technology,” explains Armen Dembekjian, the arena’s Senior Vice President for Projects & Event Productions. “There’s something for everyone.”

JBL’s newest-generation VTX A-Series loudspeakers replaced the JBL VerTec^® Series system installed more than a decade earlier. But the venue went considerably further in improving audience experience by adding upgraded and additional speakers to cover the top of the arena’s bowl.

The new system was the result of tight collaboration between HARMAN Professional and consulting firm Anthony James Partners (AJP) for its design, and HARMAN, AJP, and 3G Productions for its installation. “We did a very similar design to what was in the arena previously,” reports Jack Covert, AJP’s Vice President of Audio Engineering. This allowed cost and structural work to be reduced by reusing rigging points and infrastructure originally installed for the VerTec system.”

The main system consists of 120 VTX A12 Dual 12-inch Line Array Loudspeakers, powered by Crown I-Tech 4x3500HD four-channel amplifiers. VLF content is supplied by 36 VTX B28 Arrayable Dual-18-inch Subwoofers driven by 18 Crown I-Tech 12000HD two-channel amplifiers. Speaker tuning and optimization are performed by DSP onboard the Crown amplifiers.

“A big change was the upper balcony system that had not existed before,” Covert reveals. “I went to an NBA game prior to designing the system and the place was jumping, but I went on the upper bowl and it was quiet up there. We put in a nice delay ring using JBL Precision Directivity boxes and it really made a big difference. We made sure the folks sitting in that area were getting their money’s worth.” Covert’s design used 36 JBL PD6322/95-FRP Dual 12-inch 3-Way Horn-Loaded Speakers powered by more I-Tech 4x3500HD amps.

The renovation is a massive project encompassing every part of the building and all of its amenities and facilities. One might think spreading a multi-year renovation would mean it could take place at a measured pace, but in fact, the biggest obstacle facing the system install was the arena’s jam-packed schedule of events, since Crypto.com Arena is the region’s most popular sports and entertainment destination, hosting more than 200 events annually. “One of the most interesting and significant aspects of the job was its constraints,” muses Jerrod Cring, Director of Systems Integration at 3G. “There was no scenario in which the arena could shut down for a month or even a week to facilitate a full-scale integration of the new sound system. So, everybody knew going into the project that working around the arena schedule was a prerequisite, and that we were all going to have to partner and collaborate to do it.”

Cring points out that, even with strong cooperation between all of the project’s contractors, the time crunch heightened the impact of dependencies. “There was electrical work that had to be done, there was low voltage work that had to be done, there was structural work that had to be done to support amp racks in the catwalks,” he lists off.

And then there was the biggest hurdle of all: availability of the equipment. As the renovation got underway the audio industry was still in the throes of supply chain delays caused by COVID, but JBL was able to deliver.

To thread this complicated needle, 3G drew on their production company roots and extensive experience working in the building on numerous concerts by touring music artists. Wiring harnesses and racks prepped at the company’s Las Vegas headquarters were transported to their LA office so they could be quickly loaded onto a truck, taken to the venue, and installed on short notice. “Going in and hanging a PA in the round in a couple of days, I mean, that's not an event for us, that's just your typical Wednesday,” chuckles Cring.

The ramifications of Crypto.com Arena’s packed schedule were further accommodated by one other difference between the VTX and VerTec systems. “From a maintenance perspective, if an amp went down in the old system, we had to lower the entire speaker cluster to access that one amp and fix it,” Dembekjian relates. “But there are periods where we're going from event to event to event to event, and there's no time to bring that array down. We want to be 100% operational safe at all times, not 97 or 93 or 90 percent.”

The issue cropped up because the old system employed an onboard amplification option, but VTX speakers are purely externally powered. “So AJP’s proposal changed the onboard amps being piggybacked on the speakers in the VerTec system to putting amps in racks on a catwalk. If an amp goes out, we can just go and troubleshoot or replace it without needing to wait for a day when the arena is dark to lower the cluster.” The substantial extra weight of these racks necessitated the structural work to the catwalk mentioned by Cring.

External powering also meant that, instead of running power and signal cables to the clusters it was now necessary to run loudspeaker cables. Again, the earlier install was able to be repurposed. “The challenge there was how to change to that heavier loudspeaker cable; there's a lot more copper involved, compared to just the power for the amplifiers going up and down,” details Covert. “It turned out that the existing cable catch structure that the line arrays were suspended from was able to be reused. Not only did that work really well for the cable management, but it also brought some cost savings because it had been built right the first time.”

All hurdles overcome, the fully installed system successfully debuted at an NHL preseason game between the LA Kings and the Anaheim Ducks. “As big and important a venue as Crypto.com is, it was daunting when the project first landed on my desk,” Covert admits. “But all of the people involved pulled together as a good, solid team. Armen was on top of everything; he was one of the nicest and most knowledgeable people I’ve ever worked with in an arena like this, and the guys at 3G showed their stuff and did a good job on the integration side. Once we dug in and started working on it, it really, really came together and was a smooth process.”

Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia Tells Mala Ancestral Story Through State-Of-The-Art Flux:: SPAT Revolution Technology

Australia — In order to bring to life a chapter of the Mala ancestral story, Madison AV worked closely with Auditoria Systems and the Aṉangu people to elevate storytelling at to a level never seen before through the deployment of drone technology, lasers, projection lighting and a HARMAN immersive audio system for the Wintjiri Wiṟu Experience in Uluru, Australia.

Jeff Shoesmith from Madison AV mentioned that HARMAN products were chosen due to their proven track record of installation in very demanding weather conditions. JBL loudspeakers were also found to be able to provide consistent frequency dispersion for accurate spatial imaging. Separately, SPAT Revolution was selected for its very powerful spatial engine with almost limitless options, and adapted very well to the layout of the system by providing accurate spatial imaging along with great sounding spatial reverberation.

“The project’s audio system was designed to complement the immense visual canvas that the night time sky provided for the drones with the score and narration played back over an immersive system surrounding the audience,” shared Luis Miranda, Audio Visual Consultant from Auditoria. “A six-channel frontal loudspeaker system using the JBL AWC series and an additional six channels of JBL Control 25AV rear loudspeakers were used to allow for accurate placement of sound images. The show was mixed on site using the SPAT Revolution spatial audio engine, which provided the necessary reverberation due to the system being installed outdoors with no natural reverberation available.”

One of the biggest challenges for this project was the installation of this system in the middle of the Australian desert which had to be done in a very remote location with limited weather shelter, temperature control or access to facilities. They also had to bear in mind that the system had to be robust so that it could be left outdoors in extreme weather conditions for years with little maintenance.

A spokesperson for Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia mentioned how the SPAT Revolution audio spatial technology transcends the limitations of traditional stereo and surround sound formats which intensifies storytelling and captivates the audience.

IBIZA, Spain—Ibiza Rocks recently replaced its aging sound system with a comprehensive HARMAN Professional live audio solution consisting of JBL Professional loudspeakers to ensure high-impact audio for its guests while minimizing disturbances to local residents.

Originally conceived as a live music night at Manumission, Ibiza Rocks aimed to introduce a unique performance dynamic to the island, initially emphasizing live bands. Over time, this focus evolved to include both live bands and DJs as headliners. In 2008, Ibiza Rocks transitioned into a hotel, featuring an iconic poolside stage and a full schedule of events throughout the season. Throughout its evolution, the venue has continually refined its performance space to deliver an unparalleled pool party experience for guests while maintaining consideration for neighboring residents. “We had a circular stage for a long time and a peripheral system going round the venue,” recalled Stuart Harris, Event and Production Manager, Ibiza Rocks. “It proved difficult for many reasons, and that’s when we started looking at what kind of stage are we going to use, where is the stage going to be, and what kind of PA are we going to use. We’re very happy with the new JBL system and all the artists are very happy with the sound. We’ve gained 5 to 6 dB within the venue with the JBL setup and we’re not upsetting our neighbors, which is huge for us.”

“We were all very sensitive to the neighbors near the venue, so we saw an opportunity to not only accommodate what the venue required, but also limit any disruption to the area,” said Carlos Nager, Senior Application Engineer, HARMAN Professional. “We designed the system with that in mind to achieve a very good SPL and coverage inside the performance area while trying to avoid spilling a lot of noise outside of the venue.”

Ibiza Rocks now features a main left-right array of six JBL VTX A8 line array speakers with two hangs of JBL VTX A6 compact line array speakers for outfill. Supporting the main system, four JBL AC28 speakers serve as the delay fills for the balcony, and the same number of JBL CBT 1000 column speakers cover areas further away from the stage to ensure an even sound field. Additional JBL AC28 cabinets provide the punchy and powerful sound requested for the VIP areas located on the side stages.

“One of the good things about the VTX A8 series is the definition and clarity that you get from it,” noted Chris Wood, Head of Sound at Ibiza Rocks. “If you have more definition and clarity, there’s no excuse to just reach for the volume to make up for stuff that isn’t really there. That really helps with keeping what is perceived loudness down and keeping the clarity up and everyone happy as well. We’ve moved in a really good direction for Ibiza Rocks. I think this will be a very good system for the venue for many years. I couldn’t be happier.”

To ensure a strong low end, 12 JBL VTX B15G subwoofers are deployed in cardioid mode to deliver a powerful and balanced bass response across the performance area while minimizing spill behind the subs. Once the new system had been put through its paces, regularly performing DJs at Ibiza Rocks pool parties expressed being impressed with the new levels of performance.

“This season at Ibiza Rocks, the new JBL sound system has absolutely killed it for me,” said Joel Corry, DJ and Producer. “Every side of the venue, every space in the venue, you can hear the music so loud and clearly and you can feel the bass. I love playing on it, and the party goes off each and every week.”

NIJMEGEN, Netherlands—Michael Story of Story Sound recently powered a full week of live music and celebrations at the International Four Days Marches Nijmegen with eight stages’ worth of JBL Professional live sound reinforcement systems, with additional support from distributor Audio XL.

An annual tradition with roots stretching back to 1909, the International Four Days Marches Nijmegen (Internationale Vierdaagse Afstandsmarsen Nijmegen in Dutch) is the largest multi-day marching event in the world with more than 40,000 participants. Organized in the Dutch city of Nijmegen since 1925, the event draws thousands of participants who walk 25 miles over the course of four days in July. In the evenings after the marches, there are numerous parties with more than 40 pop-up stages showcasing live music and entertainment throughout the city along the path of the march.

In order to provide top-notch audio experiences for the marchers and partygoers while minimizing the SPL impact on the nearby neighborhoods, Dutch live sound provider Story Sound was hired to design and deploy sound systems for several stages during the event. Story Sound owner and operator Michael Story once again supplied multiple capable rigs consisting of JBL Professional VTX Series and VRX Series loudspeakers and subwoofers, delivering immersive and exciting audio quality in the stage area while containing the noise pollution to the satisfaction of the authorities and stage sponsors alike. European HARMAN provider Audio XL also supplied a new JBL SRX Series system for Michael Story to audition in the Dutch live entertainment market.

LONDON—HARMAN Professional Solutions recently partnered with Headliner Magazine to replace the legendary Pioneer Club’s aging live sound system with a supercharged JBL Professional SRX Series sound reinforcement system just in time for a headlining performance by Rudimental.

The Pioneer Club is a youth and community venue located in St. Albans just miles from the city of London. In addition to housing a historic music venue and the UK’s oldest indoor skatepark, the Pioneer Club is a registered UK charity, and has a long history of helping young people, stretching back to re-housing displaced children during World War Two. Since opening in the 1960s, the Pioneer Club’s all-ages venue has helped launch the careers of musical icons like the Zombies and Enter Shikari while hosting concerts by Declan McKenna, Bring Me The Horizon, Trash Boat and many more.

In a year that’s seen Enter Shikari reach number one in the UK albums chart, the hometown band saw an opportunity to reinvest in the community that gave them their earliest opportunities. Following discussions with Headliner Magazine CEO Paul Watson, the band ended up partnering with the music and tech media brand to renovate the Pioneer Club’s existing 400-cap music venue as well as converting an underutilized common room into a new 120-cap venue and café bar called the Suet Yard.

In order to support and better accommodate bands on the modern UK touring circuit, Watson and Headliner contacted HARMAN Professional Solutions to replace the Pioneer Club’s aging sound and lighting systems with state-of-the-art solutions from JBL Professional, Crown, AKG and Martin. HARMAN shared Watson’s vision for the Pioneer Club and agreed to become an ally for the venue.

“I was approached by friends in the rock band Enter Shikari about the possibility of teaming up to revitalize the Pioneer Club,” said Watson. “The Pioneer is very close to their hearts. They knew that Headliner is an audio brand that skews music industry and pro AV industries. We had conversations, and then in July we partnered with HARMAN. HARMAN saw and shared our vision. By the end of September, the new installation was complete.”

The Pioneer Club’s new sound system consists of sixteen JBL SRX910 line array speakers, suspended eight per side, with low end provided by two ground-stacked pairs of JBL SRX928S dual subwoofers. Four JBL PRX908 speakers provide flexible onstage monitoring, while two JBL PRX915 speakers are used as DJ monitors. An additional two JBL PRX912 loudspeakers supply delay coverage to the VIP balcony.

Meanwhile at front-of-house, a Soundcraft Vi1000 digital mixing console delivers space saving, world-class audio mixing capability with pristine audio quality, roadworthy reliability and an intuitive user interface for streamlined operation. Onstage, a plethora of AKG microphones ensure every note is captured in painstaking detail, while the addition of a Martin lighting rig heightens each performance with eye-popping visual appeal.

“I come from an audio background myself,” said Watson. “I’ve done live sound,and I’m a studio engineer as well. This JBL rig is a really great sounding rig; it feels very controlled with a very smooth low end. The artists were buzzing about it after the show. The HARMAN package has upped the room’s production value enormously. The previous system was pretty decent, but the SRX rig has certainly supercharged the venue.”

The system had its first outing at an inaugural event headlined by award-winning drum-and-bass group Rudimental on Saturday October 7 with support from 220 Kid and Lo Lauren. The event raised funds for the Pioneer Music Charity and the venue itself.

“Helping to preserve grassroots venues like The Pioneer Club is something we are passionate about,” said the members of Rudimental in a joint statement. “By headlining this fundraiser at The Pioneer Club, we wanted to help raise awareness of the venue, the charity, and all that it is striving to achieve in terms of music education, entertainment, and providing a safe creative place for young people.”

According to Watson, the Pioneer Club’s new HARMAN sound and lighting rig represents just the first phase of Headliner and Enter Shikari’s plans to position the legendary venue at the center of a hub that supports the local music community while generating revenue to sustain the Pioneer charity, which remain the organization’s top priority.

“We have an opportunity to turn what was once an iconic venue back into a great venue,” said Watson. “And this initiative will also help to support key local groups including Services for Young People and the National Autistic Society, all of whom will be able to utilize the space. Then from a core Headliner perspective, we will launch two Academies during Q2; these will be dedicated to music and pro-audio education, to help raise awareness to young people that they can find a route into these industries and build a career for themselves.”

Since installation was completed, the Pioneer Club’s new HARMAN sound and lighting rigs have powered numerous concerts by independent rock bands on the local and touring UK circuits as well as supporting events for high-profile clients such as TikTok and the MOBO Awards.

“It’s easy to forget you’re in a relatively small venue given the importance that’s clearly been given to the overall production,” said Dani Simmonett, United Talent Agency. “The sound is crisp and clear, and acoustics don’t have the issues that many smaller venues have. I’ve had the opportunity of seeing a variety of artists with different setups at The Pioneer Club since the new JBL rig went in, and it’s working extremely well across the board.”

Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin and Pitbull, Team Up for the Trilogy Tour Powered by JBL VTX Line Array Speakers

North America—The Trilogy Tour recently selected a complete JBL VTX A Series arena sound reinforcement solution provided by Sound Image / Clair Global to power headline performances by Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull in arenas across North America.

In 2023, three iconic artists Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull teamed up for the North American Trilogy Tour, with three distinct headline performances each evening. The 2023 leg of the tour kicked off on October 14 in D.C. and included stops in New York, Miami, Houston, Las Vegas and more and wrapped up December 16 in Vancouver. The 2024 leg kicks off on January 30 in Fresno and includes stops in Denver, Austin, Toronto, Nashville, Atlanta and more before wrapping up on March 10 in Tampa.

In order to deliver arena-ready mixes with balanced coverage, detailed clarity and maximum impact, Enrique Iglesias’s FOH Mix Engineer Brad Divens collaborated with Pitbull’s FOH Mix Engineer Will Madera and Ricky Martin’s FOH Mix Engineer Jorge Frontera to specify a complete JBL VTX tour sound reinforcement system.

“I was introduced to VTX on a previous tour with Brad and Enrique Iglesias, and for the last 6 or 7 years VTX has been on our rider,” said Will Madera, FOH Mix Engineer, Pitbull. “The first time I listened to it I fell in love with it. It translates my mix very well. I love the low end and the definition of the mids and highs. It has that pop rock sound that I like very much. It was a unanimous decision to go with JBL VTX on this tour, and it was definitely the right choice.”

The Trilogy Tour’s JBL VTX sound system features a total of 96 VTX A12 with a main hang of 20 boxes per side and side hangs of 16 boxes per side, and auxiliary hangs of 14 speakers. To deliver a strong and controlled bass presence, the team specified 42 VTX B28 subwoofers, with 24 subs flown with the main array, and 16 subs on the ground in front of the stage. The crew also included 12 VTX A8 speakers stacked on top of the ground subs to deliver front fill coverage.

“The coverage and impact from that system is incredible,” said Brad Divens, FOH Mix Engineer, Enrique Iglesias. “I like the punch, the clarity, I especially like the top end, it’s so smooth and airy and very present. The vocal quality is great coming out of it. Everything seems to sit right where you expect it to be. It’s right in your face but not aggressive. There’s no downside to the VTX system. It goes up quickly, it’s efficient, and powerful. The system is at 100% and it can do anything. I’ve mixed on every single possible rig. JBL VTX is the rig I choose. I’d put it up against any other rig.”

Both Madera and Divens praised the quality of work by Bill Chase, the tour’s Systems Engineer, and expressed that they had total faith in the JBL VTX sound system’s ability to translate their mixes consistently night in night out in different arenas on tour.

“Bill Chase is our system tech, and he’s really good at making it sound the exact same every day in every different room—which is the hardest thing to do,” said Madera. “The JBL system performed consistently on this tour, which makes our jobs easier. It’s been one of my best experiences touring yet, no complaints whatsoever. It’s great to be able to hang out with incredible engineers like Jorgito and Brad. I look up to their mixes, they’re incredible at what they do. It was a great learning experience.”

“This crew we have is exceptional,” said Divens. “That’s really made it painless when it comes to the audio portion. To have consistency night after night from the audio department is the biggest thing I can ask for as a mixer. There’s not one night on this tour when I felt that something wasn’t right—it’s been perfect. Every arena is different, but you put 15,000 screaming fans in there, and it all comes together. The shows have been going great, and that’s partly because of what the PA delivers, and the crew that sets it up.”

As part of the renowned Doi Rong International KDL Project, it is a premier tourist destination in Vietnam. The hotel hired leading integrator TNNSI to install a state-of-the-art easy-to-use AV system that would deliver 5-star experiences for guests in the meeting rooms. In order to meet the hotel’s goals TNNSI installed a comprehensive HARMAN Professional networked audio and control system using JBL speakers, AKG microphones, Crown amplifiers and AMX network and control devices.

To meet the client's requirements, TNNSI installed a range of AMX network and control solutions, including AMX Precis 4K60 HDMI switchers, NX2200 Netlinx Integrated Controllers, ACR-5100 Acendo Core meeting space collaboration systems, MD-1002 Modero G5 wall mount touch panels, and DX link transmitters. The team also included AKG CS3 conference microphones, Crown DCi Series amplifiers and JBL Control 16C/T ceiling tile speakers.

TNNSI selected the AMX Precis video switcher for its fully featured HDMI video routing and affordability. The Wyndham Ocean Dragon’s NX-2200 NetLinx NX Integrated Controller offers a scalable platform that combines high performance and comprehensive network security features while accommodating to the diverse needs of their customers hosting events in the venue.

The Modero touch screen serves as a single point of control, integrating all system functionality into a single interface. This allows the control team to streamline all the devices with intuitive user selections based on their needs, from just one elegant and unobtrusive touchscreen station tablet.

Throughout the project, TNNSI faced tough competition from other well-known brands, however, with unwavering support from the HARMAN team, TNNSI was able to surpass the client’s expectations.

The hotel owners expressed their satisfaction with the completed project, acknowledging TNNSI for providing the best AV solution. They have shown their confidence in TNNSI by expressing their intention to collaborate on future projects.

JBL Professional Debuts JBL Venue Synthesis Acoustic Simulation Software

This free desktop application lets users design and simulate acoustic coverage and prepare complete JBL sound reinforcement systems for rigging or installation in any environment, at any scale, in both 2D and 3D.

Venue Synthesis introduces the ability to run three-dimensional acoustic predictions, simulate acoustic performance for complete systems, and validate equipment for safe, secure rigging. Users can create or import 3D venue models, interact with realistic 3D models of JBL Professional loudspeakers and accessories and predict coverage on any plane for a full system of JBL products.

The new application, which replaces JBL's Line Array Calculator, has been designed from the ground up to take advantage of an improved acoustical and mechanical engine and offers ultra-realistic 2D and 3D graphics, featuring accurate renderings of physical rigging components.

Venue Mode: Fast, Simple Modeling Tools

Venue Mode makes it easy to quickly generate venue models in 2D or 3D using industry-standard geometry formats or build venues from scratch. Import and trace 2D schematics using common file formats to quickly model venues at scale, and create common architectural and audience areas such as balconies using the Special Object Creator.

Acoustics Mode: Design Down to the Smallest Detail

Use Acoustics Mode to build and refine JBL Professional loudspeaker systems, including suspended and ground-stacked line arrays, distributed subwoofers and point-source systems. Configure equipment quantities and parameters including system size, position, angles, DSP and amplifier settings.

Users can visualize fast-rendering preliminary "Quick SPL" coverage or fully map SPL to a venue for ultra-precise coverage visualization with 1/12-octave frequency resolution—far finer than the industry standard of 1/3 octave—and high-resolution balloon data for high-frequency channels measured to 2 degrees. A 3D Full System Mapping feature precisely maps acoustic coverage on any audience plane, and can optimize off-axis response, complement off-axis response with point-source speakers and correct for acoustic shadows such as church pillars and under-balcony areas.

Use the System Groups feature to organize and link loudspeakers and arrays according to acoustic properties, and 2D System View to visualize coverage, impact points and loudspeaker angles. Delay Optimizer optimizes loudspeaker delays for the entire venue. A System Group File Export feature is fully integrated with the JBL Performance Manager application and the newly updated JBL ArrayLink mobile app, which uses a QR code system to deliver rigging information to field technicians.

Mechanics Mode: Ensure Safety and Reliability

Mechanics Mode lets users validate and refine mechanical settings—included suspended arrays—to confirm system feasibility, safety and reliability, using 2D and 3D configuration views. An Array Statistics tool confirms adherence to regulatory requirements, and a real-time warning notification system alerts users to safety and reliability issues across the system.
